Why You Need a Night Nurse

The reasons for hiring a night nurse are invaluable. Exhaustion can take a serious and unhealthy toll on the human body. This can increase the risk of postpartum depression and stress. Knowing that your baby is in the hands of a registered nurse, one of the most trusting professions, provides a sense of calmness during the chaos of having a newborn.

  • Nobody can function at their best being awake for 24 hours.

  • Newborns' stomachs are the size of a marble at birth. By 10 days of life their stomach increases to the size of a golf ball. Due to the size of their little bellies, small frequent feedings are necessary to keep your infant comfortable.

  • Night nurses offer valuable advice when it comes to the care of your newborn, bottle feeding, breast feeding, safe sleep, bathing, sleep training, etc.

  • Night nurses will help you and your baby establish a healthy routine that will keep your baby happy and on track.

  • Night nurses can help diagnose things like thrush, yeasty diaper rashes, reflux, tongue ties, etc, and give recommendations to bring to your pediatricians office!

  • Night nurses are essential in helping c-section mothers recover.

What People are Saying About Us!

"Sasha and her crew were excellent to work with. They were very well organized, which helped with consistency and smooth transitions. Every single nurse was kind, competent, and loving"

- Ben & Ali R.

"I cannot say enough good things about Sasha (and her team). Her care for our newborn twins not only brought us the physical break we were so desperately needing, but also an emotional relief knowing that they were under the care and eyes of highly trained professionals in infant healthcare. Although we have two older children, Sasha started healthy sleeping habits with the twins that made the transition to sleeping though the night far more easily achievable than we had experienced prior. Honestly, I was very hesitant about the idea of handing over my brand new babies to someone I hardly knew, but Sasha's warm and nurturing demeanor put me immediately at ease. We extended our time with Sasha's team by an extra month because we could not part with them!"

                                         - Alison W

" My husband and I were adamant after our first child that we could handle the nighttime routine day in and day out. Boy, were we wrong. Our second was born with GERD causing a number of sleepless nights in her first few weeks. I called Sasha for help and within three days we had our first night of sleep. I owe the team so much, they allowed my body the opportunity to recover after a c-section and be ready to go with a toddler and newborn at home in the morning. While my baby is now two months, I don't want to stop using the services because having even one night of eight hours is worth every penny. Further, having NICU trained nurses caring for your baby is such a reassuring element. I'm continuously learning from them every time they are here!"

                                              - Courtney B

" When Sasha or one of her nurses came into our home to start an evening, we would immediately feel a sense of calm. Knowing that our baby was being looked after while we had a night to sleep and heal was such a priceless feeling. They made us feel so comfortable knowing our baby was in wonderful hands, and having that full night of peaceful sleep just made me a better mom for my kids the next day. "

                                        - Emily P

" Sasha and her team made those hard, newborn nights much more manageable for my husband and I. Having 2 toddlers, our sleep was already all over the place and our days were busy. Leaving our newborn in the hands of highly skilled infant nurses gave us a peace of mind and some much needed rest. Scheduling night nurse shifts was easy and seamless, and we always received a thorough and detailed report of our newborns night the next morning. They worked with me on my nursing/pumping preferences while also encouraging me to get as much sleep as possible. Sasha and her team helped establish a good feed schedule and healthy sleep habits for our newborn. Our Simply Sleep by Sasha baby is still our best sleeper at 18 months old!!! The team was so helpful that we are getting ready to welcome them back in a few weeks once our fourth child arrives!!"

                          - Katelyn D

"I cannot thank Sasha enough for keeping me sane. She is thoughtful and prompt with every piece of advice and makes a detailed plan to help you and your baby succeed. Me and my good sleeper couldn’t have lived without her that first year."

                                - Nakita C

"We had our first newborn this summer and every friend I know who got a night nurse during the first few months said it was the best decision they’d ever made. So my wife and I of course wanted to do the same. We were so fortunate to discover Sasha and her team!

Sasha and the nurses who work with her are all RNs. They’re extremely knowledgeable on any questions you might have about your newborn from what’s “normal” to breastfeeding, which is a godsend for new parents like us. Further, they’re expert in sleep training. By 10 weeks, our newborn was sleeping through the night!

In addition to better sleep, the nurses also help with some random tasks during the night such as infant laundry and cleaning breastfeeding equipment which saves precious hours during the day.

All in all, working with Sasha was a great decision and our only regret is not reserving more time!"

                                                                     - Daniel D

" Kerriann was a lifesaver as a new mom! I wish I had found her sooner. After having several bad experiences with in home lactation counselors, Sasha paired me with Kerriann. She was incredibly kind, realistic and knowledgeable. I wish I had thought to use her before having my baby, as everything is so overwhelming and challenging afterwards. Kerriann has gone above and beyond by making herself available to me and checking in even after our visit. Being a mom herself and having gone through the journey of breastfeeding, she has experience and compassion both personally and professionally. The personal experience and ability to relate and understand really sets her apart from others. She made me feel so comfortable and was incredibly helpful in every way possible. I only wish I had found her sooner!!"

                                                                                                       - Anna P

"Sasha, Frankie, and Natasha are our superheroes!!! Despite this being our second child, I still felt tired and overwhelmed. Sasha and her team swooped in to let me rest and recover, all while giving me peace of mind that my newborn was taken care of at night. They were excellent about recording every feed, diaper change, and educated me about active vs. nonactive sleep, hunger cues, umbilical cord care, wake windows -- all the scary stuff for any parent with newborn! My baby is now 15 weeks old - she is sleeping through the night and has a great nap schedule thanks to Sasha's guidance.

Alongside being an expert with newborns and healthy sleep habits, Sasha is a thoughtful, kind, and honest person. She responds back to my questions (and I had a lot!) thoroughly and timely. I feel lucky to have found and booked Simply Sleep - I absolutely believe that it it saved me from postpartum baby blues, which I experienced with my first baby. Getting a solid couple hours of sleep at night helped me function better as a mom in the daytime for both my kids - it was worth every penny.

Sasha and her team are the complete package - responsible experts with compassion. Don't hesitate and reach out to her before her schedule gets full!"

                                                                                                               - Karen L

"Sasha and her team have had the most positive impact on our postpartum journey, and we could not be more grateful to have used their services during a very exciting and nerve-racking time as new parents! I found out about Sasha on a local mom’s Facebook group. From booking all the way to using the services, Sasha was a wealth of information and support as we prepared to bring our newborn home. Our only regret is not reserving more nights initially- we were fortunate to have Simply Sleep from anywhere from two to three times during the first three months and later stepped down to one night per week, but we absolutely would have loved to have the team more knowing what we do now.

During our time utilizing Sasha’s overnight sleep services, she was able to coach our family on safe sleep and healthy sleep habits that have allowed our baby to take consistent naps and sleep through the night by the time she was three months. Sasha and her team helped us navigate feeding issues and gave us helpful information to have important conversations with our pediatrician. They took total care of our family by making sure we were successfully feeding and getting our daughter to sleep. Once our nights were over, Sasha created several recommended schedules so we can stay consistent with our baby and ensure we maintain all the skills she helped us to develop. Sasha and team care for your family like their own. My best advice for expecting parents is to book Sasha early, and I can assure you that once you use the service you will want their team helping your family as many nights as possible. Thank you Sasha and team for helping our family! We ware so grateful for the peaceful rest you have given to us and our baby and know we can always reach out for sleep consulting in the future."
